'There are some names that are currencies in themselves’
From Brooklyn’s asphalt to Wall Street and auction houses, Basquiat’s work has become a global language.
In 2025, Singapore hosted Behind the Canvas Series 1: Jean-Michel Basquiat at Marina Bay Sands—an immersive tribute to the artist’s lasting cultural impact. Selected to create site-specific murals in dialogue with Basquiat’s legacy, Singapore-based artist Mihov stood out for his conceptual rigor.
The One Basq, re-imagined banknotes-style large chalk murals, blend street art, pop culture, and financial symbolism. The installation quickly became a highlight, drawing collectors and celebrities alike.
Over the exhibition’s three-month run, Mihov led private tours for culture ministers and industry leaders. Now, the murals are released as a limited edition series, allowing the works to live beyond the walls where they were originally created.
